Swathi says she is not interested in love marriage and will marry the person that her parents choose. 'Right now my focus is on career and I don't have time for other things. Telugu film shocks Mumbai producers!

2014 has started on a bad note for Talented actor Nani as two of his films Paisa and Aaha Kalyanam turned out to be commercial failures. At least, Paisa managed to garner openings but his much-hyped Aaha Kalyanam is being declared as dud by trade sources. The collections in few areas are Rs 20,000 and Rs 40,000 which is very low for a star like Nani.

Yash Raj Films, B-town's reputed production house, which produced the film, is said to be tumbled over the collection reports of the Telugu version. Right from the opening day, most of the theatres have posed a deserted look and there is sheer drop out in revenue. Ongoing, political uncertainty too taken a severe toll on the collections.

A highly-placed source said Yash Raj Films is deeply disappointed and shocked with the collections. They're apparently feeling that how come Dabangg remade as Gabbar Singh turned out blockbuster along with its original. "People have watched both Dabangg and Gabbar Singh here," a Mumbai producer was quoted by our source. When our source reportedly pointed out at Jabardasth, they apparently opined that it can't be total reason as most of the common audience are not aware. Well, there might be many reasons behind a film's failure like release timing, political conditions in the State. Let's hope Nani's forthcoming film Janda Pai Kapiraju saves Nani and bring him back to glory. Whatever, now B-town producers might have understood Pawan's mania.

T'wood divided on Vizag land allocation?

Now that Telangana State is a reality, majority of Telugu film industry bigwigs, who hail from the successor state of Andhra Pradesh, are reportedly prodding the Union Government to fasten the process of lands allocation in Visakhapatnam for the "development of infrastructure".

In fact, few years ago then government had issued a G.O allocating 316 acres of land between Nidigattu and Bheemunipatnam near Vizag. But no one from film industry showed interest to apply for it then apparently citing reasons like the land is not suitable for film production and the cost was too high (Rs 25 Lakh per acre) and industry was concentrated in Hyderabad. With Telangana State is declared now, filmmakers have reiterated their demand and this time, they're pressing for lands in Visakhapatnam.

Industry buzz is that so far 20 persons have sought land to set up studios including few noted personalities. Few bigwigs, who own Studios in Hyderabad, are swiftly making their moves to bag chunk of the lands in Vizag. Naturally, this has invited flak, wrath from small-ticket filmmakers and producers. Producer Natti Kumar, who is native of Vizag, says, "We have approached higher authorities in government to allot land to those who were not allotted any land in Hyderabad. We also requested them to not to consider those who already benefited in Hyderabad."

With this, a rift is said to be brewing between these two sections which may hamper the cordial relations. And few other industry people opine that they're firm on producing films from Hyderabad. Many neutrals added that since Hyderabad is common capital for 10 more years, there may not be huge changes in film industry at least for next decade. On other side, there are many apprehensions over alleged threats from Telangana leaders, activists. Let's wait and watch.

This indeed is a challenge to Akshay Kumar given that Chiranjeevi's another remake Stalin recently remade by Salman as Jai Ho turned out disaster.

Breaking: Producer attempts suicide in Censor Office

       Producer of forthcoming Telugu film Amma Nanna Oorelithe, Jakkula Nageswara Rao, attempted suicide in regional Censor Board Office in Hyderabad on Wednesday. Apparently saddened with the way Censor Board dealing with him and his production venture, Nageswara Rao reportedly decided to take extreme step. He has taken sleeping tablets in the censor office itself protesting the Board's functioning. He was immediately rushed to nearby hospital.

His film Amma Nanna Oorelitha had completed censor norms Nageswara Rao in January where regional Censor Officer A. Danalaxmi imposed 40 cuts in the film. Shocked with Censor Officer's move, director Anji Sreenu and producer Nageswara Rao tried their best to convince the officer by explaining the scenes but in vain. We hear that they also tried to approach Review Committee. More details are yet to be known over the circumstances.

Starring debutantes Siddharth Varma, Shilpa Swetha and others in the leads, 7/G Brindavan Colony heroine Sony Aggarwal is making a comeback with this film.

Actress Rakul Preet landed in quite a big trouble at the domestic airport of Delhi when a bullet was found inside her laptop bag. She was taken aside and grilled over four hours as to how the bullet came into her bags. Interestingly enough, the 8 mm bullet was of a kind that was not found in India. Rakul was in state of complete panic and started crying and ultimately recollected her wits enough to ask her dad, who is in the army, if the bullet was his. Over a lot of confusion, it was finally revealed that the bullet was a dead one and also fake!

Rakul finally remembered that the bullet was from one of her shoots from a Tamil film of hers where she had used a revolver. The cops at last let her go and the nightmare ended for the actress!

Surprisingly they have decided about the release date, but haven't yet fixed on the director! Who is going to direct this super special project? We are hearing that Dolly (Kishore) is the frontrunner to direct it. But there is no official confirmation regarding director as yet.

Why are they maintaining suspense about the director? Are they having other names in mind or what? Oh My God is not a regular fare and it does need a midas touch from the director to make it an impressive film. Madhuri Dixit and Juhi Chawla are coming together for the movie Gulaab Gang directed by soumik sen. The promotional work of the film is going on. The movie is expected to release March 7 produced by Benaras Media Works and Sahara Movie Studios. Madhuri plays Rajjo, wise and fearless woman, who is a crusader for women’s rights. She heads a group of women — clad in pink saris and armed with axes and sickles — who have joined her in the fight. On the other hand is Juhi’s character, politician Sumitra Devi, who is conniving and ruthless. 

 

“We feel proud and privileged to bring Madhuri and Juhi together for the first time in a movie. It is delightful to see these two terrific actresses own their characters in the film.” Said Sandeep Bhargava, Chief Executive Officer, Sahara Movie Studios.

Producer Anubhav Sinha adds, “The prospect of Madhuri and Juhi working together looked great on paper. But on the first day of the shoot, when Mushtaq Shiekh (associate producer) and I reached the set and found the two in their characters, it was surreal.”

Manam: This multi-starrer film starring all the Akkineni’s is being seen as a final send off to the late Legend Akkineni Nageshwara Rao. Apart from the fact that the film brings together all the Akkineni’s what has got people even more curious is the fact that the film is directed by Vikram Kumar who as so far made all exciting films. His last film Ishq re-launched Nithin and this film is expected to be the biggest success for the Akkineni family.

Race Gurram: Allu Arjun’s film after nearly a year sees him unit with director Surender Reddy for the first time. Other firsts for the film are his combination with heroine Shruti Haasan and music by SS Thaman. All these factors have made the film a keenly awaited one among the summer releases. The film going by the track record of people associated has all the chances to be the big one this summer.

Rabhasa: Although yet to confirm a title officially and a release date, sources say this will be the final release of the summer. Jr NTR unites with Kandireega fame Santosh Srinivas for the film which is produced by Bellamkonda Suresh. Jr NTR is looking for a big grosser, could this be the film? We have to wait and see.

While recently Farhan Akhtar confirmed his presence in the film being made by his sister Zoya Akhtar, now we hear that the film is titled Dil Dhadakne Do.

Also, it is being said that the film is about a dysfunctional Punjabi family where Priyanka Chopra and Ranveer Singh will be playing siblings. Prabhas's look in 'Baahubali' has surprised everyone. The lean man from 'Mirch' has given way to a beefed up  Prabhas, who has gone all out to look the part of 'Baahubali'.

According to sources, the heartthrob has gained 20 kilos for the role! For the first time in the history of Tollywood has any hero gained so much for a role. After listening to the script, and the requirements of his character, Prabhas flew to America. There, he interacted with WWF wrestlers, and tried to understand their training style.

The actor, who previously used to weight 82 kilos, also imported a gym worth Rs 1.2 crore from America.  However he did not go for a foreign trainer, instead opted for a local one.

Sources add that the star would work out for six hours daily. He also made drastic changes to his diet. For breakfast the star would have  about 40 egg whites, along with protein shake. 

Director SS Rajamouli wanted his 'Baahubali' to have a body similar to that of the Hulk. And, Prabhas is doing everything to honour his director's wish.

Tollywood shifting its base?

                With Telangana formation is imminent, focus is now shifted to what's going to happen next? Naturally, all eyes are on Telugu film industry which is the first industry to make its move after the formation of Andhra Pradesh from Chennai 58 years ago. We hear that majority of the Telugu film industry personalities, who hail from Seemandhra, have really no issues with the formation of Telangana. Yet there are wide apprehensions among them about their safety, progress and security in Telangana State despite promises given by several Telangana leaders, activists. At the same time what is luring them is "major tax exemptions" in successor state of AP as Centre declared "Special State" status to it. (Although no clarity is given on this front like what are the tax beneficiaries to industries).

Hence, Tinsel town is abuzz with the news of shifting its base from Hyderabad. Going by our sources, the Telugu film industry is seriously contemplating to move and establish its start-up in residuary state of Andhra Pradesh. This may not happen overnight but in coming ten years (in which Hyderabad is common capital), T-town may move slowly. And two cities in successor AP state are in fray for the film destination. While one being Visakhapatnam which has been in news for a while and the other one is Tirupati. Compared to Tirupati, Vizag has beach locales, spacious locations, roads, development and already Studios like Ramanaidu have set up there. But what is working against Vizag is that geographically it's far away from Chennai where all post-production labs, recording theatres, music and shooting studios are present.

With this, Temple city Tirupati's name popped up very recently. Given that Tirupati's proximity to Chennai and Renigunta airport, few Tollywood big personalities are contemplating to move to Tirupati so that major work could be carried out in Chennai. We also hear that Tollywood is being invited by Chennai industry to come back. Though, T-town may not go back to Chennai, but they're planning to depend on Chennai for time being until new infrastructure is developed here. Music directors like Thaman and Devi Sri Prasad are already working from Chennai as they have own studios there. As of now, suspense is continuing over what is T-town's next destination.
