Is Pawan Kalyan ready to lose?
Power Star Pawan Kalyan, who has humungous fan base, has stuck between a rock and a hard place. He has to now choose between Politics and Films. In fact, it is a very tricky situation for all superstars-turned-politicians and that's one reason, that is holding back Rajnikanth to restrain his political ambitions- of losing a major chunk of fan following.
A simple logic- Pawan's fans could comprise of people who are already followers of existing parties like Congress, TDP, Lok Satta, YSRC, TRS. So his political entry would only polarize his fans and even cut the fan following to half! So, the moot question: Is Pawan ready to lose- a section of fans and film career?
First it was, Amitabh Bachchan who lost his super stardom after joining politics in 1984. Even though, he became a MP, but he lost his career since all his films after his political entry like Jadugar, Toofan bombed and pushed him out. It took a long while for Amitabh to resurrect his career and that too happened after he quit politics.
Even Tamil star like Vijayakanth, was next only to Rajni in mass following. He also launched a party and became an MLA, but his film career went on a tailspin and to some extent even Sarath Kumar also faced similar fate. "Pawan's own brother Mega Star Chiranjeevi too lost a chunk of fans after he stepped into politics. This is the reason why stars like Aamir Khan, Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan staying away from politics," pointed out a Sr. political analyst. So, Is Pawan prepared to lose his spectacular fan following to some good for society or will he re-write history. What you think guys, stars getting into political is risky. Isn't it?
